Design
Students turn ideas into solutions through planning, prototyping, CAD, testing, and iteration.
FTC
Engineering, programming, strategy, and competition in a fast-moving team environment.
Grades Middle & high school
A hands-on robotics program where students design, build, program, and compete with custom robots in a fast-paced team environment.

The experience
FIRST Tech Challenge gives students the opportunity to solve engineering problems through mechanical design, fabrication, electronics, programming, testing, and competition. Students work together to develop a robot while also learning how to communicate ideas, organize projects, and make strategic decisions.
Students learn through designing, building, programming, testing, communicating, documenting, and improving their work throughout the season.
Our teams
Holt Robotics fields multiple FIRST Tech Challenge teams, giving students the opportunity to design, build, program, and compete as part of a smaller team environment.
More than competition
Students turn ideas into solutions through planning, prototyping, CAD, testing, and iteration.
Teams learn how individual mechanical, electrical, and software systems come together into a complete robot.
Students use software, sensors, automation, and control systems to bring the robot to life.
Communication, teamwork, project management, outreach, and leadership are part of every successful robotics program.

Program highlights
Students design, prototype, build, and refine custom mechanisms while learning how mechanical and electrical systems work together.
Students write software for driver control, autonomous routines, sensors, and other systems that allow the robot to perform reliably.
Teams analyze the game, test ideas, make design decisions, and continuously improve both the robot and competition strategy.
Team information

FTC teams work through a season of design, prototyping, programming, testing, and competition. The robot continues to evolve as students learn from testing and competition experience.
Current meeting schedules and team location information will be published here.
Students interested in engineering, programming, mechanical design, electronics, strategy, media, or teamwork can find a role in FTC. Prior robotics experience is not required.
